Srinagar, June 27: Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Saturday carried out coordinated search operations at several locations across the Kashmir Valley as part of an ongoing investigation.
According to officials, one of the raids was conducted in Srinagar at the residence of Riyaz Ahmad Beigh, son of Noor Mohammad Beigh. Beigh, originally from Dalal Mohalla in Maharaj Gunj, has been residing in Hokarsar near Police Station Shalteng for the past 16 years.
In Ganderbal district, another CIK team led by DySP Nissar Ahmad conducted a search at the house of Syed Qalandar Shah, son of Barkat Shah, a resident of Chountwaliwar Lar.
Meanwhile, in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, a separate CIK team headed by DySP CIK Anantnag, along with NT Mudasir Yosuf Bhat and support from SHO Dooru, searched the residence of Gulzar Ahmad Rather of Nowgam, Kapran.
Officials said a Redmi Note 9 Pro mobile phone was recovered and taken into custody during the search at Nowgam, Verinag. The action is linked to FIR No. 07/2023 registered under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act at Police Station JIC CIK Srinagar.
Authorities stated that the Anantnag operation concluded peacefully, while search activities at other locations were still underway. Further details are expected.
