Srinagar, June 18: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited the Mata Kheer Bhawani shrine at Tulmulla in Ganderbal to review preparations for the annual Kheer Bhawani Mela, scheduled to begin on June 22.
The Chief Minister inspected arrangements for devotees and said the administration has been directed to complete all pending works before the festival. He added that issues raised by priests and shrine authorities would be addressed promptly.
Speaking on the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, Abdullah said the government is extending full support to ensure smooth conduct of the pilgrimage. He also expressed hope for peace, prosperity and communal harmony in Jammu and Kashmir.
On irrigation concerns in Ganderbal, he said steps are being taken to improve water supply, while Irrigation and Flood Control Minister Javed Rana will visit affected areas to review the situation.
