SEPT 29: Coming down heavily on the BJP Government, Member Parliament (MP) Srinagar Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, on Monday, said decisions about Kashmir are taken in New Delhi and if anyone disagrees they face PSA, UAPA.
MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi was answering a question posed about the current situation in Ladakh, “Ladakh has been disempowered and today the people of Ladakh have realised that they have been betrayed. Likewise, Kashmir were betrayed on the pretext of Statehood. Moreover, decisions about Kashmir are taken in New Delhi and if anyone disagrees they face PSA, UAPA.”
On by-elections at Budgam and Nagrota seats, Ruhullah said, “Constitution says if there is vacant seat there should be elections on that seat…People of Budgam and Nagrota are waiting for by-polls and yesterday through observers the information was received in this regard,”
Denouncing the BJP regime, MP Mehdi added, “Likewise when Assembly was dissolved in 2018 there was conspiracy that no assembly was made inplace and elections were also delayed so that power utterly to LG Sinha and he signs the agreement of Abrogation of Article 370.”
Ruhulla Mehdi took BJP to task and said, BJP regime does not see national interest as it only cares about the party interest.
“Those who oppose BJP get the tag of anti-national,” said MP Srinagar, adding, “People who voted me for Article 370 restoration, I still stand firm to oppose its nullification.”
We have to fight several battles yet for the restoration of tranqulity and our due right in Jammu and Kashmir, said MP Ruhullah.
