We don’t think that State Government is that much equipped to fix Jammu-Sriangar National Highway: Karra
SAHIL BHAT
SEPT 20: J&K Congress President Tariq Hameed Karra said that the dual power system will continue to haunt the democratic setup and made a strong pitch for the Statehood reinstatement to Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to reporters, Congress Chief said, “As far as dual control system is concerned it will continue to create chaos, will generate hitches until the Statehood is restored.”
He added, “IAS and IFS officers are directly under command of Lieutenant Governor and their accountability to State Government is negligible. Hence, Statehood should be restored so that all powers come to State Government and chaos gets rooted out.”
Karra further said, “The biggest issue was to keep BJP out of power corridor and the issue is resolved with several sacrifices were made Congressmen. Even we started campaign “Humari Riyasat Humara Haq” which delivered a blow to BJP as scores of people were part of it.”
On NH-44 issue, Congress stalwart Tariq Karra said that we don’t think that State Government is that much equipped to fix Jammu-Sriangar National Highway.
Coming down heavily on the NC-led Government, Tariq Karra said National Highway will take months to get back on track.
“It is perception that the damage is of 300 meters has been incured and will be cleared in 3-4 days, however, kilometers of stretch has suffered damages and it will take months to fix it,” Karra said.
