JULY 24: Chanting “Bam Bam Bhole” and “Har Har Mahadev”, a fresh batch of 3,500 pilgrims set out from the Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp in Jammu on Thursday for the holy Amarnath cave shrine nestled in the South Kashmir Himalayas.
The batch of devotees embarking on the holy pilgrimage through twin routes of Pahalgam in Anantnag district and Baltal in Ganderbal district was escorted by security forces for safe and hassle-free pilgrimage.
Among 3,500 pilgrims, 832 departed for the Pahalgam route and 2,668 for the Baltal route.
Everyone was swept with religious fervour and brimmed with gaiety and enthusiasm.
It is learnt that the 38-day annual pilgrimage began on July 2 after LG Manoj Sinha flagged off the holy pilgrimage which will culminate on August 9, 2025.
As of now, over three lakh devotees have paid obeisance at the cave shrine of Baba Barfani.
