JULY 9: At least five pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra got injured as the vehicle ferrying them met with an accident in Udhampur.
As per the reports, five Amarnath pilgrims were hurt as the vehicle they were travelling rammed into a road divider in the Narsoo Nallah area of Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir.
It is learnt that four passengers sustained minor injuries, while the driver survived critical wounds.
The driver identified as Shashikant, a resident of Haryana, was on the heels of this shifted to the Associated Hospital of Government Medical College & Hospital Udhampur for treatment of multiple injuries.
Following the medical examination, he was confirmed to be out of danger.
Amidst heightened security cover, a fresh batch of over 7,500 pilgrims left Jammu on Wednesday for cave Shrine of holy Amarnath nestled in South Kashmir Himalayas.
Pertinent to mention, more than one lakh devotees have undertaken Shri Amarnath Yatra in six days and the pilgrimage will culminate on August 9, 2025.
