JUNE 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took RJD president Lalu Prasad to task over the alleged insult to Dr BR Ambedkar during Prasad’s birthday celebrations in the recent times.
While launching the scathing attack on Lalu Prasad, PM Modi did not mention Prasad’s name, however, referred to the instance of a portrait of Ambedkar being placed close to the feet in the recent past.
“Ambedkar condemned dynasty politics but they do not admire him, hence they place his portrait at their feet,” PM Modi attacks Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
PM Modi referred to the posters which he witnessed on his way, seeking an apology for this insult to Babasaheb.
In his keynote address in Bihar, PM said that they will not apologize because they disregard Dalits. He also said that Modi has Babasaheb in his heart and prefers to keep his portrait close to his chest.
Pertinent to mention, as per RJD, the controversy erupted due to “Camera Angle” which was placed wrongly at Lalu Prasad’s residence during the celebrations of his birthday earlier this month.
