JUNE 3: Thousands of devotees mostly Kashmiri Pandits throng to pay obeisance at the revered shrine of Mata Kheer Bhawani at Tulmulla in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir on Jyeshtha Ashtami which is the first big engagement after Pahalgam bloodshed in the valley.
Scores of devotees offered prayers amid the chants and hymns of sounds and were swept with religious fervour and gaiety.
LG Manoj Sinha offered the prayers and expressed a strong desire for more footfall in the valley down the line.
“Large number of devotees have visited the pious Kheer Bhawani Mela which is first engagement after the Phalgam Attack and we are confident that more footcount will also be witnessed in Amarnath Yatra,” LG Sinha said.
National Conference chief Dr Farooq Abdullah also visited the revered shrine and prayed for harmony and mutual brotherhood.
“Kashmiriyat is incomplete without Kashmiri Pandits and I wish for the harmony among all the communities,” said Dr. Farooq Abdullah.
Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti also visited the Kheer Bhawani shrine and wished for amity and bortherhood among the communities.
“Kashmiri Pandits should return to Kashmir with dignity. They are integral part of Kashmir. Without them no solution is possible for Kashmir issues,” Mehbooba Mufti said.
