JKAS Exam Results: Jmu’s Sanjeev tops, Iqra secures 2nd place among 71 selected candidates

Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has announced the results of the Combined Competitive Examinations (CCE)-2023, marking a proud achievement for 71 successful candidates who will now move forward to the medical examination stage.
Topping the list is Jammu’s Sanjeev Kumar with a remarkable score of 1089, followed closely by Iqra Farooq, the daughter of a tailor, with 1078 points. Vasudha Sharma claimed third place with 1075 points.
The selection process, initiated in April 2023, began when the General Administration Department referred 75 posts to JKPSC. The examination saw 30,756 applications, of which 18,882 appeared for the preliminary exams on October 15, 2023.
After rigorous testing, 2,144 candidates advanced to the Mains held from March 26 to April 3, 2024, in Jammu and Srinagar.
From there, 274 candidates moved to the final interview round, held between October 21 and October 29, 2024, at the JKPSC Srinagar office, with 71 candidates now proceeding to medical evaluations.
The journey of Iqra Farooq, who earned the second rank, stands out for her dedication and resilience.
Despite financial challenges, her family, particularly her father, Farooq Ahmad, supported her aspirations. "I had no private coaching and faced many obstacles, but I stayed focused," Iqra shared, expressing her desire to help others in her future role.
Another qualifier, Anka Binti Irshad, who secured the 33rd rank, emphasized that one exam does not define one’s capabilities, expressing her desire to impact health and education in the region. Danish Hussain, who achieved the 30th rank and has an engineering background, highlighted the importance of balancing personal and professional commitments during his preparation.
As these young achievers look ahead, their diverse backgrounds and ambitions reflect a commitment to bring positive changes to Jammu and Kashmir, a sentiment echoed by many who are eager to serve their communities. The JKAS results thus not only showcase individual success stories but also the potential for impactful public service.
