Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Coordination Committee of Trade Union expresses its deep concern and anguish over the Budget presented by the Finance minister GOI yesterday which is anti people and anti working class. Md Maqbool and Gurmeet Singh (President and Gen. Secretary Jkcctu) while going through the budget has said that the cut in MGNREGA funds and other subsidy on fertilizer has belied the hopes of down trodden sections of workers and peasantry and there is no relief to the unorganized sector workers. Neither there is any commitment to increase the minimum wages nor already fixed minimum wages are being implemented to the vast sections of the workers thus giving the free hand to the capitalists to loot brazenly.

Though some relief to sections of middle class employees is welcome step but other issues of service sector like releasing of three installments of freezed DA during COVID pandemic and the filling of lakhs of vacancies both in central Govt and PSUs have not been addressed. The central Govt. has given the big concessions to corporate sector on the one hand and after withdrawing the subsidy on petrol, LPG and fertilizer has proved its anti people and pro corporate character on the other. The jkcctu while condemning this anti working class budget demands to release the freezed DA, raising of Minimum wages, announcing the 8th pay commission which is due and withdrawing all anti people and anti working class measures in the budget.
