Over 7.6 million persons covered,5 Lakh patients treated across J&K

SRINAGAR: Over 7.6 million persons in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory have been covered under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) and Sehat Scheme.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Abhiyaan, also known as Ayushman Bharat or the National Health Protection Mission (AB-NHPM) or Modicare, on 23 September 2018.
After two years of successful implementation, the Government of Jammu & Kashmir decided to extend the benefits of AB PM-JAY to the entire population through a 100% government funding mechanism and launched Universal Health Coverage (AB PM-JAY SEHAT). The scheme was launched by the Prime Minister of India on 26th December 2020.
As per the details available, till ending August 2022, the total eligible families under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Sehat Scheme in Jammu and Kashmir stand at 25, 05,626. The total number of eligible persons under the PMJAY and Sehat Scheme stands at 97, 17,471.
Similarly, 22,18,943 families stand covered under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Sehat Scheme in Jammu and Kashmir. As per the details available, as many as 76,03,859 are persons covered under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Sehat Scheme.
Further, as many as 290 hospitals across the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory are empanelled under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Sehat Scheme. At the same time, as many as 75,97,850 e-cards have been generated under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Sehat Scheme in Jammu and Kashmir.
Further 1, 66, 249 pre-authorization have been raised under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Sehat Scheme in Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, over 5,47, 378 patients have been treated in Jammu and Kashmir under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Sehat Scheme.
