‘Rs 52 cr proposed for Katra under PRASHAD Scheme’

Jammu: Taking strong exception to the delay caused by the irresponsible behaviour of the Contracting Agency, the Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh said that that North India’s first national river rejuvenation project of Devika will be fully completed before the year end within the next two-three months.
“The project which was launched by Prime Minister Modi, is being directly monitored by the Centre” Singh said while chairing District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee Meeting (DISHA) in Udhampur.
He added that the instructions have been issued to expedite the work on the last leg of the project and to avoid any inconvenience to the general public on account of the ongoing work.
He also directed the concerned authorities to expedite the progress of work and achieve the targets set by the Government as per the timeline.
“Our government is committed to provide best health services to the people of the UT,” he said. H
e directed all the officers to work in coordination for better results at the grass root level.
Earlier, on reaching at Udhampur, the Union Minister planted tree in the premises of Dak Bunglow, he said that tree plantation is an integral part of conserving environment and everyone should plant at least one tree towards protecting the nature.
Meanwhile, chairing DISHA meeting in district Union Minister was informed Reasi Katra kas been brought under Rs 51.60 crore Parshad scheme comprising various components like multipurpose tourist facilitation centre, development and up gradation of Nehru park, development of fountain chowk, statue of Sridhar Bhagat, Amphi theatre, renovation of road from Asia to foundation Chowk, repair of road from foundation chowk to Banganga, tourist guest house and water point and signages.
