Property of Rs 36 croresstolen; 39% recovered by JKP in 2021

SRINAGAR: Last year,the Jammu and Kashmir Police recovered over 39% of property that was stolen across the Union Territory.
As per the information available, last year property worth Rs 369983200 was stolen in Jammu and Kashmir, out of which Rs 147491993 was recovered by the Jammu and Kashmir Police. Jammu and Kashmir Police released the data in its report Crime Gazette 2021.
In Jammu, property worth Rs. 87843615 was stolen out of which Rs. 28743495 was recovered (32.72%). In Kathua, property worth Rs 14826697 was stolen last year out of which property worth Rs 4556261 (30.73%) was recovered.
In Samba, Rs 13783255 worth of property was stolen out of which police recovered Rs 11237448 (59.01%). In Rajouri, property worth Rs 11237448 was stolen out of which Rs 8133325 (48.01%) property was recovered by the police.
In Poonch, Rs 5272967 worth of property was stolen out of which police were able to recover property worth Rs 8133325 (39.80%). In Udhampur, Rs 11716794 worth of property was stolen, out of which police could recover Rs 4663147 (39.80%). In Reasi, property worth Rs 5419626 was stolen out of which Rs 3312706 (61.12%) property was recovered by the police.
In Doda, property worth Rs. 2776302 was stolen out of which Rs. 562769 was recovered (20.27%). In Kishtwar, property worth Rs 1682860 was stolen last year out of which property worth Rs 649900 (38.62%) was recovered. In Ramban, property worth 10784830 was stolen out of which property worth Rs 3275789was recovered.
In the Jammu division, property worth Rs 165344394 was stolen out of which 37.11 per cent of Rs 61352603 was recovered by police.
In Anantnag, property worth Rs 31603106 out of which 24.95 per cent Rs 7885410 was recovered by police. In Kulgam, property worth Rs. 11007626 was stolen out of which Rs. 2579442 was recovered (23.43%). In Shopian, property worth Rs 14493509 was stolen last year out of which property worth Rs 3788549 (26.14%) was recovered. In Pulwama, property worth 7545100 was stolen out of which property worth Rs 5561600 (73.71%) was recovered.
In Awantipora, Rs 7945800 worth of property was stolen out of which police were able to recover Rs 2210000 (27.81%). In Srinagar, property worth Rs 58938078 was stolen out of which Rs 30927728 (52.47%) property was recovered by the police.
In Budgam, Rs 231514785 worth of property was stolen out of which police were able to recover Rs 10313427 (43.86%). In Ganderbal, property worth Rs 6410698 was stolen out of which Rs 2447588 (61.12%) property was recovered by the police.
In Baramulla, Rs 12749755 worth of property was stolen out of which police were able to recover Rs 39228395 (30.81%). In Bandipora, property worth Rs 3124403 was stolen out of which Rs 1554903 (61.12%) property was recovered by the police.
In Kupwara, Rs 7413048 worth of property was stolen, out of which police could recover Rs 5201498 (70.17%). In Handwara, property worth Rs 7268557 was stolen out of which Rs 3568057 (49.09%) property was recovered by the police. In Sopore, Rs 11820293 worth of property was stolen out of which police recovered Rs 6132573 (51.88%).
As per the data, a total of property worth Rs 203835388 was stolen in Kashmir, out of which 86099170 (42.24%) were recovered. Further, property worth Rs 280220 of railway Jammu was stolen last year out of which Rs 402220 was recovered. Whereas, property worth Rs 413044 of railway Katra was stolen while no amount was recovered by police. Also, a property worth Rs 110154 of railway Kashmir was stolen, however, no amount was recovered by police.
