JKBOSE lists 444 govt schools in hard zone

Board announces tentative date for exams, submission of forms

SRINAGAR: Following the announcement of the Uniform Academic Calendar, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has listed as many as 444 government schools in the region wherein the exams will be held in the month of April year.
At the same time, the JKBOSE notified tentative dates for submission of examination forms, conducts of examination, declaration of result etc.
A notification in this regard has been issued by Prof Ab. Wahid Makhdoomi, Director Academics Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education.
“In supersession of all previous orders issued on this behalf and pursuant to the Govt. Order No 2074-JK (Edu) of 2022 dated:-31-08-2022, it is hereby informed for the information of all the concerned that Uniform Academic Calendar has been adopted in the Union territory of J&K from the current academic session and the various public examinations held by the JKBOSE shall now be conducted uniformly across the Union territory of J&K and Union territory of Ladakh, as per the schedule mentioned”, the notification reads.
Annual Regular Examinations held by the JKBOSE of classes 10th, 11th and 12th shall be held in the month of March in both the Divisions of Union territory of J&K (i.e. Kashmir Division and Jammu Division)/ Union territory of Ladakh excluding Hard Zones/Areas.
Annual Regular Examination of hard zones/ areas of Union territory of J&K/Union territory of Ladakh shall be held in the month of April. The result of the Annual (Regular) examination of the Kashmir Division and Jammu Division/ Union territory of Ladakh including hard zones/areas shall be declared simultaneously in the month of June.
Annual (Private)/ Bi-Annual examination in Union territory of Jammu & Kashmir/ Union territory of Ladakh shall be held in the month of August and its result shall be declared in the month of October.
As per the notification, 135 schools from Kashmir have been shown in the hard zones area, wherein the exams will be held in the month of April every year. That includes 19 from Bandipora, 32 from Kupwara, 28 from Kulgam, 13 from Budgam and 43 from Anantnag.
In Jammu, there are 309 schools that include 50 from Kishtwar, 47 from Reasi, 7 from Rajouri, 20 from Poonch, 56 from Doda, 64 from Ramban and 65 from Udhampur.
As per the order, the number of working days available for March sessions excluding hard zones includes from the 25th of April to February 2023 (a total of 180 days) in the Jammu division summer areas that includes summer vacation of 60 days and winter vacation of 10 days.
The numbers of working days in the Kashmir division/winter areas of the Jammu division are 180 days. While the schools will have 60 days of winter vacation and 10 days of summer vacation.
As per the notification, the exam for class 10th in hard zones will commence in the first week of December. For class 11th class, it would be from the third week of December. For the 12th class, it would be from the third week of November.
For schools excluding hard zones, the exam for class 10th will commence in the second week of April. For class 11th class, it would be from the last week of April. For the 12th class, it would be from the third week of April.
As per the notification, the submission of fee/forms for registration of class 9th will commence from 1st August to 31st August. The submission of fee/forms for registration of class 11th will be up to 10th July for Kashmir Division/Winter/Summer zone areas of Jammu Division. Renewal registration fee for class 12th per candidate will be upto 25th of August for Kashmir Division/Winter/Summer zone areas of Jammu division.
The candidate/s who are placed under the re-appear/failure category, but provisionally admitted to class XI and XII as the case may be, their renewal registration dates shall be notified separately after the declaration of annual private bi-annual results
