IB conduct raids at Sidhra, Narwal, Channi Rama, seizes cash

Jammu: The sleuths of Intelligence Bureau (IB) on Thursday unearthed a Rohingya Muslim gang which brought minor girls from Myanmar to sell them off in Jammu and Kashmir.
Official sources said that the sleuths conducted raids at Sidhra, Narwal and Channi Rama and arrested three accused persons involved in it.
“The three persons namely Shakoor son of Jalal Din of Boli Bazar Mayanmar at present Asrarabad, Sidhra, Mohd Yasin son of Kaka Fatu of Manyamar at present Narwal and Fareed Alam of Mayanmar at present Channi Rama were involved in illicit trade of Mayamar /Bangladesh girls and sold them to the customers for exploitation in Jammu and Srinagar areas.
These persons have been indulging in this trade of trafficking for last many years”, official sources informed The News Now.
They said that the trio accused was later handed over to the SDPO Nagrota for sustained questioning, adding, a case FIR No 342/2022 u/s 370 IPC has been registered against them in this connection.
They said that during the raids IB sleuths recovered demonetized money to the tune of Rs 2.28 lakh, three mobile handsets and some documents were recovered from the slum of Abdul Shukur in Sidhra.
Quoting them, official sources said, the minor girls from Myanmar are firstly brought to the capital New Delhi. Afterwards, they are sent off to Jammu.
They brought girls from Myanmar to India in the name of getting them jobs.
After that the girls were sent to different locations in the country including Jammu and Kashmir which has become a big market of human trafficking for Rohingyas.
The girls are sold at merely forty to fifty thousand rupees in remote districts of Ramban and Kishtwar in J&K.
