Shopian police observed Thana Diwas

Shopian, 12 May 2022: As a part of J&K governments public outreach programme, Shopian police today observed 'Thana Divas' across the district.The event was organized at all Police Stations of the district, chaired by respective jurisdictional police officers.

At Police Station Imam Sahib, the meeting was chaired by SP shopian tanushree IPS.ASP IFROZ. DYSP Ashraf lahree were also present on the occasion at police station Imam Sahib Shopian.

The meetings were attended by Sarpanchs, Panchs, respectable citizens , civil societies of concerned areas, including members of Auqaf Committees, Numberdars, Chowkidars,Traders Federation and Transporters.

During the meetings, participants highlighted various issues of public importance, and they were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and that of civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal. While speaking on the occasions, it was reiterated that the main aim of organising 'Thana Divas, is improve efficiency,transparency and accountability in policing at grassroot level and to hear and redress grievances of general public, besides seek support and active cooperation in maintaining L&O, curbing drug menace and others social evils in the areas.

The participants were also stressed to co-operate with Shopian Police identifying anti national and anti social elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment in the district. The participants appreciated the role of police for conducting such interactive meetings which further boosts community policing and public confidence.
