CAB, vaccination imperative to combat COVID 3rd wave

GANDERBAL, JULY 28: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today said that Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) and vaccination are imperative to combat COVID 3rd wave.

She said this during a regular press briefing on the current Covid scenario and mitigation efforts put in place in the district.

While sharing details, the DC said that overall positivity has come down to just 0.38 percent and total positive cases are only 39 in the district.

Regarding vaccination, the DC said that while analyzing the data it has been observed that the general public over the age of 45 years is showing more interest in vaccinating for 2nd dose which is a positive point, while as the young generation is still hesitating for vaccination irrespective of repeated requests.

She again appealed the people of 18-44 years age to visit nearest vaccination site and get vaccinated adding that all 94 vaccination sites are functional in the district.

Regarding recent weather advisory, the DC appealed the general public of district especially those residing in the higher reaches to remain cautious and not to venture out in slopes, hilly areas or flood/landslide prone areas till weather improves.
