3,478 people fined for violating COVID guidelines in Kashmir

Srinagar: As many as 3,478 people were fined Rs 4.40 lakh while 23 shops were sealed for violating COVID-19 guidelines during the last 24 hours in Kashmir valley, a police official said.

He said that continuing its efforts to curb the outbreak of second wave of Coronavirus, police have realised fine to the tune of Rs 4,30,650 from 3478 people during the last 24 hours in the valley for violating the various guidelines regarding COIVD-19.

Besides, he said 23 shops were sealed in Kulgam for violating COVID norms.

''The special drive against the violators of COVID-19 guidelines/rules continued in all the districts of Kashmir to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/guidelines envisaged by the government to curb Covid-19 pandemic,'' he said.

He said community members are once again requested to cooperate with the police in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/ guidelines/protocols for their own safety and for the safety of others. ''The special drive shall continue throughout the districts of Kashmir Valley to strengthen the safety measures,'' he added.
