NIA arrests two Lashkar-e-Mustafa terrorists for carrying out terrorist activities in J&K

Jammu: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) have arrested two suspected terrorists of a newly floated Lashkar-e-Mustafa (LeM) terrorist outfit for carrying out terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir.

NIA sources said that two accused persons namely Mohammad Arman Ali, 20, alias Arman Mansuri and Mohammad Ehsanullah, 23, alias Guddu Ansari, of Depbahuara, Marhoura, District Saran, Bihar, were arrested in a case registered on February 6, 2021, at Police Station, Gangyal, Jammu.

"The case was registered relating to a conspiracy hatched by members of Lashkar-e-Mustafa, an off shoot of proscribed terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed, to carry out terrorist activities in J&K with an intention to threaten the sovereignty, integrity and security of India," they said, adding that the NIA had re-registered the case and took over the investigation.

Investigation has revealed that both the arrested accused persons were co- conspirators and were involved in transportation of two separate consignments of illegal arms and ammunition from Bihar to Mohali and Ambala.

"The weapons were further transported to the accused Hidayat Ullah Malik, self declared commander-in-chief of LeM in Jammu and Kashmir," the NIA official said, adding that the accused Mohammad Arman Ali was arrested in Bihar and was produced before the CJM Saran, Bihar and was taken on transit remand to produce him before the NIA Special Court, Jammu.

"Other accused, Mohammad Ehsanullah was arrested from Jammu,” they said, adding that further investigation in the case is in progress.
