Two drug peddlers arrested in Budgam, contraband recovered

Srinagar, May 7: Police on Friday arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband from them in the central Kashmir district of Budgam.

A police official said that following specific information, a checkpoint was established at Wadwan Chowk in Budgam. “Police intercepted a vehicle at the checkpoint and during checking recovered 190 grams of charas-like substance and 345 tablets of controlled medicine Anxiety,” he said.

He said the accused, identified as Javiad Ahmed Beigh and Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh, were immediately taken into custody. “A case FIR number 116/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation taken up,” he added.
