J&K govt nods financial incentives for medical staff

1921 docs, 1735 MOs, 8650 paramedical staff recommended

Srinagar: The government on Tuesday accorded sanction of financial incentives in respect of Covid-19 warriors of Health & Medical Education department in Jammu and Kashmir.

Whereas, the concerned authority has recommended 1921 doctors, 1735 doctors (Resident Doctors both Junior and Senior), 1735 Medical Officers (MOs), 8650 nursing/paramedical staff, 4726 Class-IV sweepers and 435 drivers for incentives who are directly dealing with the Covid-19.

In this regard, an order has been issued by Hardutt Sharma, Assistant Director, Planning Health & Medical Education Department. ”Sanction is hereby accorded to the grant of financial incentives in respect of Covid-19 warriors of Health & Medical Education Department for rewarding the services rendered by them”.

As per the order Rs. 10,000 has been fixed incentive for Resident Doctors/PGs and Medical Officers, Rs 7,000 have been fixed incentive for Paramedical staff/nursing staff and Rs. 5000 for drivers and Class-IV (NO/Sweepers).

“These special incentives shall be exclusively for those health frontline workers who directly deal with the Covid-19 patients. The tenure of these incentives shall be for peak pandemic period of three months, starting from the month of May 2021”, it added.

As per the order, the number of Resident Doctors both Junior and Senior recommended by the concerned authorities for the said incentive includes 686 are from GMC Jammu, 784 from GMC Srinagar, 12 from GMC Doda, 30 from GMC Rajouri, 50 from GMC Kathua, 79 from GMC Anantnag, 80 from GMC Baramulla and 200 from Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Science (SKIMS) Soura.

Whereas, the number of Medical Officers recommended by the concerned authorities for the said incentive includes 58 are from GMC Jammu, 73 from GMC Srinagar, 1 from GMC Doda, 6 from GMC Rajouri, 25 from GMC Kathua, 14 from GMC Baramulla, 841 from Directorate of Health Services Jammu (DHSJ), 714 from Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) and 3 from SKIMS Soura.

Further, as per the order, the number of Paramedical/nurses recommended by the concerned authorities for the said incentive includes 1858 are from GMC Jammu, 626 from GMC Srinagar, 38 from GMC Doda, 78 from GMC Rajouri, 204 from GMC Kathua, 136 from GMC Anantnag, 30 from GMC Baramulla, 2839 DHSJ, 2521 from Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) and 3 from S SKIMS Soura.

“Further, 4726 Class-IV sweepers and 435 drivers who are directly dealing with the Covid-19 have been recommended for the incentive by the concerned authorities”, the order reads.

Meanwhile, in a separate order, the government has extended the service of in-service of faculty members, consultant, doctor who is going to retire during intervening months up to 30th November 2021 as well as extension in the term of doctors on tenure postings.

In this regard, an order has been issued by Atal Dullo Financial Commissioner Health and Medical Education Department.

It reads, “In view of the surge in Covid-19 cases, it is hereby ordered that the services of the faculty members, consultants, doctors working in SKIMS Soura, Srinagar Bemina, GMC and health departments who are going to retire from May 2021 to November 2021 extended to 31st December 2021.

It is further ordered that the term of the doctors presently undergoing various tenure postings via registration, demonstratorship, fellowship, senior and junior residency etc. in SKIMS Soura Srinagar/Bemina, GMC colleges of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is extended up to 31st December 2021.
