Samsung unveils 5G ready Galaxy M42 smartphone in India

APRIL 28: Samsung may soon launch a new Galaxy M phone in India. Dubbed as the Galaxy M42, the smartphone is said to be the most affordable 5G handset from the company so far. The phone is also said to be one of the first phones with 5G in the M-lineup.

Ahead of the official launch, leakster Mukul Sharma has also tweeted what appears to be the teaser of the phone. The teaser does not reveal anything about the phone except for a “#FasterMonster” catchline. Sharma in his tweet reiterated the Galaxy M42 “will be the first-ever 5G phone in the Galaxy M lineup of smartphones.”

According to older rumours, Samsung Galaxy M42 5G will come with a 6,000mAh battery. The phone will reportedly run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 750G processor. Other leaked specifications of the phone are Android 11 out-of-the-box, 4GB of RAM, and Adreno 619 GPU. The phone will also come with a 64-megapixel quad-camera setup.

Separately, Samsung Galaxy F12 has gone on sale in India today. The handset comes in two memory variants – 4GB/64GB and 4GB/128GB, priced at ₹10,999 and ₹11,999, respectively. The phone comes in Sea Green, Sky Blue and Celestial Black colour options.

The Galaxy F12 sports a 48MP quad-camera setup with ISOCELL plus technology. The phone offers a 90Hz refresh rate on a 6.5-inch HD+ Infinity-V display. Galaxy F12 comes with a massive 6000mAh battery and an in-box 15W USB-C fast charger. Powered by an 8nm Exynos 850 Octa-Core 2.0GHz processor, Galaxy F12 comes with Android 11 out of the box and supports One UI 3.1 core.
