NEW DELHI: Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Harshvardhan has said that history will be kinder to Dr Manmohan Singh if his offer of constructive cooperation and valuable advice was followed by the Congress leader in such an extraordinary time. This was stated by the Health Minister in a letter written to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi suggesting ways to tackle the Covid-19 situation in the country. Terming the pandemic an unprecedented emergency, Mr. Singh has suggested for expansion of coverage of Covid vaccination programme in the country.

In the reply, Dr. Harshvardhan said, the emphasis laid by Dr. Singh on vaccination as an important tool to fight COVID-19 is well taken by the Government. He said India has launched the world's largest vaccination drive and also became the fastest in the world to reach the milestones of 10 to 12 crore administered doses.

The Minister said, it is shocking that senior members of the Congress party are yet to utter a single word of gratitude towards our scientist community and vaccine manufacturers. He said, many congress members and Congress ruled state governments have taken interest in spreading falsehoods regarding the efficacy of these vaccines thereby fuelling vaccine hesitancy and playing with the lives of our countrymen.
