'Meet Your Heritage' event attracts 50 enthusiasts to Heritage Walk at Jammu's Mubarak Mandi Complex

Jammu: To mark World Heritage Day, as many as 50 enthusiasts from various parts attended Heritage Walk during 'Meet Your Heritage' event organised here at Mubarak Mandi Complex.
The World Heritage Day, also known as the International Day for Monuments and Sites, is an international observance held on April 18 each year around the world with different types of activities including visits to monuments and heritage sites, conferences, round tables and newspaper articles.
As the present generation has a sacred duty to protect, preserve and pass on the monumental heritage intact to the posterity.
About 50 participants from different walks of life from Jammu and adjoining areas took part in the heritage walk that described the history and heritage of ancient buildings inside Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex.
This was overall 97th Heritage Walk within Mubarak Mandi.
The walk was conducted by Kirpal Singh under the 'Meet Your Heritage' Series started by Mubarak Mandi Jammu Heritage Society.
Later, a folder written by Kirpal Singh on neglected 'Parola Art of Duggar' was also released by The Heritage Foundation (NGO) depicting the pics of dying *Parola Art* of Jammu region.
This is part of *Know your Heritage Series* to continue every month beginning with Baisakh, the first month of Bikrami year 2078.
The whole activity was undertaken by abiding to the Covid precautions.
The activities ended with high tea and vrat preparations.
"I am thankful to all the participants and connected social media groups for making the program successful," Mr Singh said.
He further said, "I am also thankful to Dr. Lalima Dhar Chakraborty, Museologist and PG Dhar Chakraborty IAS (Retd.)for their unending suppot and interest in the heritage of the region."
