Two died of electrocution in Kathua

Jammu, Apr 17: Two persons died of electrocution when a motorbike they were riding on was hit by high tension wire in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Police said that on Saturday morning two boys namely Suresh Sharma, 27, son of Madan Lal and and Adiyansh Sharma, 26, son of Kuldeep Raj, both residents of the district, suffered electric shock at Jasrota Fort when reached 500 metres short of Kali Mata Mandir, Jasrota.

They suffered electrocution from a high voltage line 11KV which was broken and fell down on the ground.

Both the boys were on motorcycle and they accidentally was hit by the wires.

The bodies have been shifted to Government Medical College, Kathua for a post-mortem.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Kathua, Ramesh Kotwal confirmed the incident.
