Two notorious drug peddlers arrested, contraband recovered in Kashmir
Srinagar, Apr 15: Two notorious drug peddlers were on Thursday arrested along with contraband, including heroin, in separate places in Kashmir valley.
Official sources said that following specific information, a drug peddler, identified as Zahid Farooq Dar, was intercepted at Khanabal in south Kashmir district of Anantnag. “During his checking, police recovered 10 grams of heroin from him,” they said, adding the accused was immediately taken into custody.
They said that during naka checking at Hanjigund Chadoora in Budgam, a police team intercepted one person roaming suspiciously. “Police recovered 45 grams substance suspected to be Charas , 120 capsules of controlled drug Spasmoproxywon-plus and a cash of Rs 5,020 during his checking,” they said.
They said the accused, identified as Qasir Ahmad Ganie, was immediately arrested.
“Cases in both the incidents have been registered under relevant sections of NDPS Act in the respective police stations and investigations have been taken up to nab other people involved in drug trafficking,” they said.
