1989-90 exodus of KPs will prove to be last: Dattatreya

Jammu: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader (Sahkaryavah) Dattatraya Hosabale said that the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in the year 1989-90 was the last.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of three-day ‘Navreh Utsav’ organized first time by the community under the banner of Sanjeevani Sharda Center, Jammu, and Kashmir, Mr Dattatraya while wishing Navreh to the fraternity globally, said that resolution has power and it increased hundred times when based on religion and the society.
“Kashmiri Hindus had to be displaced many times, 1989-90 was the seventh displacement of Kashmiri Hindus and this would prove to be the last displacement,” he said.
“I am confident that the Kashmiri Hindus’ resolve to celebrate the next Navreh in Kashmir will be meaningful,” said Dattatreya.
As a part of the three-day festival, on April 12, Shreya Bhatt Day, along with the Day of Reconciliation was observed, on April 13, Navreh, Sankalp Diwas, and on Wednesday it concluded with ‘Emperor Lalitaditya’s Victory Day’ as Shaurya Day.
The three-day-long festival ended with an address by Sarkaryavah Dattatraya Hosabaleji of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh which was broadcast live on social media by various mediums by Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra.
This year the Navratri or Hindu New Year of Chaitra month, which is called Navareh in the Kashmiri language is special for displaced Kashmiri Hindu society.
The first such occasion was celebrated after three decades of displacement when the Kashmiri Hindu Displaced Society celebrated ‘Navreh Utsav’, as a day of sacrifice and dedication, resolve, and valor.
‘Navreh Mahotsav’, 2021 was supported by more than 150 social and religious organizations of the Union Territory.
Mr Dattatreya further said, “our ancestors fought with foreign invaders for centuries but never gave up. Just as Shreya Bhatt Ji had set the example of renunciation and dedication and Lalitaditya ji had set the example of Shaurya, it is also necessary to follow the footsteps of these personalities.”
Mr Dattatreya, referring to the valour of Lalitaditya, also described how Lalitaditya Ju, with the support of Bappa Rawal, defeated the Arabic invaders.
He also talked about the sacrifice of Kashmiri Hindus and said that the way Kashmiri Hindus protected religion through sacrifice for the past several decades is an example in history.
Tika Lal Taplu ji, Justice Neelkanth Ganju ji, Sarla Bhatt and Prem Nath Bhatt etc are few to be named for their sacrifices.
“Many people in Kashmir have become victims of religious fanatics, their only crime was that they were Hindu born and lived in Kashmir,” he expressed.
Guru Tegh Bahadur ji also gave his sacrifice to protect Kashmiri Hindus.
Mr Hosabale also gave the example of the Jews and Tibetans, raising the morale of Kashmiri Hindus.
“The Tibetan people also had to leave Tibet due to the invasion of China but they still vow to return one day,” he said and added that the soldiers of the Indian Army, the paramilitary force and the Jammu and Kashmir Police also made sacrifices to stop the jihadi rage, and one should not forget them.
Discussing the political scenario and development of Jammu and Kashmir, he said, “the abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A is a milestone for the people of the Union Territory. For the development and upliftment of Jammu and Kashmir, the government has been doing works, which were pending for many years and it is commendable.”
Earlier, at the launch of the program, Vice President of Sanjeevani Sharda Center, Avtar Krishna ji thanked all the organizations who contributed to the Navreh Mahotsav 2021 and Sarkaryavah Ji's address to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh strengthened the confidence that the nation and the whole world stand by the Kashmiri Hindu Society.
