Inauguration of CAT’s 18th bench today

JAMMU: The Jammu bench of Central Administrative Tribunal would start working in Jammu from Monday onwards with all service related matters to be dealt in the said bench.
The 18th Bench of CAT for Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Leh with its jurisdiction over the service matters in both these UTs will be inaugurated in Jammu on Monday, by Minister of State in Prime Minister Office Dr. Jitendra Singh, who is also the Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions will inaugurate the bench through Video Conference.
Lieutenant Governor G C Murmu and Chief Justice Gita Mittal will also participate in the inauguration event slated to begin at 10:30 am.
The Bench will operate at Wazarat Road Jammu from a building which earlier housed the office of State Accountability Commission which was scrapped under the Jammu and Kashmir Re-organisation Act 2019.
From Monday onwards, the filing of OAs, whether in the hard copy form or through online would take place at Jammu Bench itself. There are over 31,000 pending service matters which have been taken over by the CAT from Jammu and Kashmir High Court this month upon transition of jurisdiction from latter to the former.
