Jammu: Asserting that the divine land of Jammu & Kashmir in a true sense has been transformed as a 'Paradise on Earth' under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Leutinanat Governor Manoj Sinh said that the administration is determined to create fear-free and terrorism-free Union Territorty.
"The administration has been successful in dismantling the ecosystem of conflict profiteers, terrorists, secessionists, and terrorism is now breathing its last breath. I am confident this decade will be the golden decade for J&K,"LG said while addressing the ‘Rising Jammu Kashmir’ Conclave organized by a media group in Jammu, today.
He said the acceleration of J&K's all-round development and the empowerment of the common man are benefitting all sections of society.
"Our focus is not just faster but also inclusive and sustainable growth. We are laying the foundation of industrialization and modern agriculture & allied sectors to create new opportunities for youth, farmers and women, he added.
further Highlighting Intellectual Property Rights' critical role in fostering innovation and economic growth, LG said that IP facilitation centre in Jammu and Kashmir will provide handholding to entrepreneurs, MSMEs, startups in filing IPRs and assist innovators in registration process.
He also lauded the MSME Ministry and the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry for creating awareness about Intellectual property rights.
Sinha, who inaugurated the two-day national-level intellectual property rights conclave 'IP yatra' here, said, "I consider Intellectual properties as a catalyst for the progress of J&K. We are developing a robust research & development and legal framework for its protection and IP facilitation centre will provide handholding to entrepreneurs, MSMEs, Startups in filing IPRs and assist innovators in registration process".
"IP Yatra conclave will lead the way for MSMEs, innovators and Startups to effectively use the various instruments of Intellectual Property Rights such as GI tags, patents, trademarks, copyrights for protection and development of their trade and businesses," the Lt Governor said.
At the inaugural session, the Lt Governor reiterated the commitment of the J&K Administration to foster innovation and promote intangible assets like Intellectual Properties and Geographical Indications for unique products of the Union Territory.
He said as many as 10 products of handloom & handicraft and five products of Agriculture & Allied Sector have received GI tag and it will benefit community as well as boost the economic growth of Jammu Kashmir.
Meanwhile, LG said launched the new portal of Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR).
He commended the endeavour of Information Department to disseminate information to media on administration's policies, programmes and new initiatives.
Several new features for different modes of communication including press releases, fact sheet, photographs and infographics will streamline existing mechanism and reduce the time taken for dissemination of accurate and correct information, he added.
He also bid farewell to the outgoing Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta and applauded his sincerity, dedication and commitment to discharge his responsibilities without fear or favour.
“I wish him a long, happy and healthy life ahead,” the Lt Governor said.
He expressed gratitude to Haryana Government for its support and cooperation in developing the new Portal.
Ms Prerna Puri, Commissioner Secretary to Government, Information Department highlighted the key features of the portal.
She informed that the new “Subscribe to Press Release” feature also enables the general public to subscribe to press releases and get notified on their mobile phones. She said the integration of the Rebuttal Mechanism will help to counter fake/false news on real time basis.
