Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday said that that government is committed to realise vision of making India 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047.
“With inclusive, integrated, and speedy development, J&K UT is on the move to contribute in realising the vision of making India 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047,” LG wrote on twitter after attending the 8th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog at New Delhi chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to reports, LG highlighted the region's inclusive policies and efforts to integrate all communities, with a specific focus on expediting development across diverse sectors.
He also expressed gratitude to the central government for its unwavering support and guidance in implementing various developmental programs.
He emphasized the UT's commitment to leveraging its rich cultural heritage, natural resources, and strategic location to create an ecosystem conducive to rapid growth and progress.
LG also presented an overview of the initiatives taken to boost infrastructure, enhance connectivity, promote entrepreneurship, and empower local communities.
Briefing media about the deliberations of the meeting, NITI Aayog CEO BVR Subrahmanyam said that chief ministers and Lt Governors of 19 states and six UTs attended the meeting.
However, chief ministers of 11 states -- Punjab, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Delhi, Telangana, Odisha, West Bengal, Kerala, Manipur and Rajasthan -- did not attend the meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog. It was also the first formal meeting at the newly-constructed Convention Centre at Pragati Maidan which later in the year will host G20 Summit.
