9 Punjab players among 18 injured

Jammu: At least eighteen persons including nine players from Punjab on Saturday were hurt in two different road mishaps across Jammu.
Nine players hailing from Punjab who were participating in sports activities at Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council’s Training Centre here in Bhagwati Nagar area in the morning were hit by a speedy car outside the facility .
They were rushed to the hospital for treatment where condition of some students was stated to be critical.Police, however, claimed to have secured the arrest of the car driver. The incident took place near DRDO Hospital Bhagwati Nagar,Jammu.
All the injured players are residents of Jagroan Lundhiana in Punjab have been identified as Harshit (18), Vinay (20), Chirag (18),Harkaran Singh (19),Gurkaran Singh (18), Ankit (15), Sajpreet (13), Manas (12), and one unidentified player is stated to be in critical condition.
Meanwhile, nine more persons received injuries after a matador in which they were travelling skidded off the road at Nardi in Akhnoor. The injured were rushed to the sub district hospital for treatment. They have been identified as Tanshi Sharma (7),Ravi Kumar (35), Rohit Sharma (31), Riya (22), Manik (6),Sikander (42),Vasu (9), Aryan Sharma (2) and Asha (29), all are residents of village Buroi , Akhnoor.
