RAMBAN POLICE RESCUED 87 BOVINE ANIMALS UNDER OPERATION “KAMDHENU”

Ramban, 8 Aug: Acting tough against the bovine smugglers and to curb the bovine smuggling menace in District Ramban, Ramban police acting on the specific inputs regarding the transportation of bovine animals, police parties of P/S Chanderkote and P/P Jawahar Tunnel intercepted Four different vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02AS/3885,JK02C/1123,JK14B/8523 and JK013F/0596 which were on their way from Jammu towards Srinagar, and after checking all the above-mentioned vehicles were found loaded with 87 Bovine animals with utmost cruelty and without any arrangements of fodder and water and these bovine animals were being transported to valley without any valid permission of competent authority, thereby rescuing in total 87 bovine animals under the operation “KAMDHENU”.
In this regard, Case FIR No’s 119/2022,120 /2022 and 121/2022 registered in PS Chanderkote, Case FIR No 179/2022 registered in PS Banihal under relevant sections of law and investigation set into motion.
The overall rescue operation was made by police parties under the command of Insp Padam Dev Singh SHO Police Station Chanderkote and PSI Harish Kumar I/C PP Jawahar Tunnel, Insp Muneer Khan SHO P/S Banihal under the supervision of Sh. Pardeep Singh Sen Dy.SP HQ Ramban with the overall supervision of SP Ramban, Ms. Mohita Sharma IPS.
Distt Police Ramban is striving hard and taking every possible step to curb the bovine smuggling menace. District Police seek support from people to share information about bovine smuggling with police for timely intervention for the cause.
