Probe ordered against retd officers working in CU, Sgr

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government had ordered an inquiry into the matter of allowing retired officers to continue in Cluster University (CU), Srinagar.
The Cluster University of Srinagar is a State University and has been established under “The Srinagar and Jammu Cluster Universities Act, 2016″ passed by the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature on July 8, 2016. Two Cluster Universities in the State are similar to the University of Kashmir/Jammu.
Sources said that from time to time several retired employees have been allowed to continue work in Cluster University, Srinagar, which is a sheer violation of rules and regulations set by the Jammu and Kashmir government.
Sources added that several retired employees are holding positions in the administrative department. Taking note, the government has now ordered a time-bound inquiry into the matter. An order in this regard has been issued by Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Principal Secretary to the Government.
“Sanction is hereby accorded to the appointment of Dheeraj Gupta, Principal Secretary to Government, Housing & Urban Development Department, as an inquiry officer to conduct a time-bound inquiry into the matter of allowing retired officers to continue in Cluster University, Srinagar”, the order reads.
As per the order, the Dheeraj Gupta officer has been asked to fix the responsibility of the officers and officials who exceeded their authority and passed orders without the approval of the Competent Authority.
Further the Special Secretary to the Government, Higher Education Department shall be the Presenting Officer in the case. While the inquiry officer has been asked to submit the report within a period of one month.
