5 killed, 11injured in road mishap on Jammu-Sgr NH

Jammu: Five persons were killed and 11 others injured, nine of the critically, when a tempo they were travelling in met with an accident along Jammu-Srinagar highway near Kela Morh in Ramban district
“Police said that the tempo (JKO2AP0-533) skidded off the road and rolled down into a deep gorge near Kela Morh in Ramban at 8:45 pm. The tempo was on its way from Banihal towards Jammu,” an official said.
“The accident took place near the Kela Morh area in the district, they said. Five people succumbed to their injuries in the accident, the officials informed. The identity of the dead and injured is not known as of now. All the injured passengers have been admitted to a hospital,” an official said
SHO Ramban Sandeep Charak said that five persons were killed and 11 others were injured in the accident. “Five of the critically injured have been shifted to Srinagar hospital and asmany others to GMC Jammu. One person is admitted to Ramban hospital,” he added.
Since last couple of weeks, mudslides have been reported at various locations in Jammu and Kashmir due to incessant rainfall across the Valley. Heavy rains were reported in the upper regions of the Union Territory. It is important to note that most of the rivers in the area are flowing above the danger mark.
