Govt invites application for CWC chairperson, members

SRINAGAR: The government on Monday invites applications for appointment as Chairperson and Member(s) of the Child Welfare Committee in each district of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Further, the interested candidates have been asked to submit the application within 15 days from the issuance of this notice. Whereas, the Chairperson and Members shall remain in the said position for a period of three years.
The notice in this regard has been issued by the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Selection Committee Under Juvenile Justice Rules., Directorate of Mission Vatsalya.
“The Government of Jammu & Kashmir intends to constitute Child Welfare Committee (CWC), in every district for exercising the power and for discharging the duties conferred to these committees in relation to the children in Need of Care and Protection under the act in consonance with the provisions contained under J&K Rule 15(3) of The Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2015”, the notice reads.
“Therefore, on behalf of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, the Selection Committee of J&K invites applications from eligible and interested Social Workers (Male/Female) for appointment as Chairperson and Member(s) of the Child Welfare Committee in each district of the UT of J&K for exercising powers and for discharging the functions of the committee”, the notification read.
“Candidates are required to submit the printed copy (hard copies) of the applications along with attested copies of relevant certificates/documents etc kept in the sealed cover to the office of the Mission Vatsalya, first floor, Haj House, Railhead, Jammu (180012) or Rehmat Avenue, Bagat Sanat Nagar, Srinagar-190005 within 15 days from the issuance of this notice”, it reads.
As per the notification, there shall be four members in each district of which at least one shall be a woman and the others an expert on matters concerning children. At the same time, there will be Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee-one in each district.
For the post of Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, the applicant shall have Graduation in child psychology or psychiatry or social Work or sociology or Human Development or in the field of law or a retired judicial officer. And a minimum of 7 years of experience working with children in the field of education, health, or welfare activities or should be practicing professional with the required qualification
For Members, the applicant must have Graduation in Child psychology or psychiatry or social work or sociology or Human Development or in the field of law or a retired judicial officer. And a minimum of 7 years of experience working with children in the field of education, health, or welfare activities or should be practicing professional with required qualifications.
As per the terms and conditions of the notification, the appointment shall be governed as per the terms and conditions laid down under the provisions under the J&K rules of Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act 2015 and as per the instructions issued from Govt from time to time.
