Azad, Ambika to visit Jammu from Thursday

JAMMU: Former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad along with Congress in-charge for Jammu and Kashmir party affairs Ambika Soni will arrive in Jammu on a two-day-long visit from Thursday, and will take stock of current political and security scenario in the union territory.
Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Azad, and AICC General Secretary Soni will embark on a two-day visit to this winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir, from January 16, party statement said.
"They will interact with senior party functionaries, including former Ministers and former Legislators, to take stock of current political and security scenario in the state," said the statement.
He added that senior leaders from Jammu and Kashmir would meet the AICC leaders and brief them about the prevailing scenario in Jammu and Kashmir.
A meeting of Pradesh Congress Committee Executive is also scheduled to be held during their stay, to discuss the current political development and roadmap for the party, it said.
