Four mutilated bodies found on railway track, suicide suspected

Dindigul, Dec 13: In a suspected suicide pact, the mutilated bodies of four members of a family
were found on the railway track near the Kodai Road Railway Station in Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu early on Friday morning.

Police said the deceased were identified as Uthirapathi (49), Sangeetha (40), Abhinaya Shri (15) and Akash (12), hailing from Woraiyur area in Tiruchirapalli city.

The locals spotted the mutilated bodies scattered around the railway tracks and alerted the police.
The Government Railway Police personnel rushed to the spot and removed the bodies to government hospital at Dindigul for post-mortem.

Prima facie, it appears all the four members of the family might have committed suicide by jumping before a train. However, no suicide note has been found. The exact reason behind the deaths would be ascertained only after a detailed investigation.

Police recovered Aadhaar cards of the deceased, besides train tickets taken from Tiruchirapalli to Kodai Road and bus tickets to Kodaikkanal from the spot. Further investigations were on.
