Arun, Gillani swap postings; Raina BOPEE’s new chairman

JAMMU: The government on Thursday reshuffled two IPS officers, and also appointed the head of the JKBOPEE.

As per an official order, Arun K Choudhary, an IPS officer of 1991 batch, presently posted as ADGP (Coordination), PHQ, and S J M Gillani, an IPS officer of 1994 batch, presently posted as ADGP (Armed), J&K, were asked to swap their place of postings.

Meanwhile, the government also appointed retired IAS officer Shafiq Ahmed Raina, as Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination.

Raina has been appointed for a period of two years or until he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.

“The appointment has been made in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 read with Section 6 of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination Act, 2002,” said an official notification issued today.

“The Government further directs that he shall be entitled to the salary drawn by him at the time of his retirement on superannuation reduced by pension and commuted portion of pension, if any. He shall also be entitled to the DA & other allowances and leave as admissible to Indian Administrative Service officers of an equivalent rank,” it added.
