DDC Kathua reviews progress of development works under BADP

KATHUA, DECEMBER 12: District Development Commissioner, O P Bhagat today reviewed the physical and financial progress of the development works under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) in the district.
DDC inquired about the physical status of the ongoing works, number of schemes completed during the current financial year as well as the headway achieved so far on the works under progress.
Deliberate discussions were also held on the Annual Action Plan for the current financial year.
The DDC directed the officers to make all out efforts to ensure satisfactory provision of basic amenities to the people of the border areas and to gear up their men and machinery for completing the works well within in the stipulated period of time.
Works under Rural Development Department, PHE, PWD, Irrigation and Flood Control were all discussed in detail for three blocks of Kathua, Hiranagar and Barnoti under BADP.
He directed the officers to utilize the money judiciously for creating public assets in the border villages for benefit of the people further adding that disputes if any can be brought into the notice of District Administration so that they can be resolved appropriately.
Among others ACD, Sukhpal Singh, CPO, Uttam Singh, BDOs and Engineers were present in the meeting.
