Sahitya Academy New Delhi conducts conference cum cultural programme at HEM school Rajouri

RAJOURI, DECEMBER 11: Sahitya Academy New Delhi with the support of Dabistan-e-Himala today organised a conference cum cultural programme at Himalayan Education Mission School Rajouri.
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh who was also the chief guest on the occasion inaugurated the daylong symposium.
While speaking on the occasion, the DDC hailed the efforts of Sahitya Academy New Delhi and Dabistan-e-Himala for organising such a meaningful and cultural conference at Rajouri. He said that literature binds the people of different regions and faiths together.
He added that the writers and artists are the messengers of love, peace and harmony and the need of the hour is to promote our local languages and revive old culture. He sought the active cooperation of the general public in this regard.
During the programme, a symposium was organized on development of Kashmiri language, literature in Peer Panchal Region and the musical performances were presented by local artists representing Pahari, Gojri and Kashmiri .
An Urdu mushaira was also organised by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Language in which poets representing various parts of J&K read their poems and enthralled the audience. Later, a book entitled "Naveed e Qalam" written by Rubina Mir was also released.
Deputy Director planning, Bilal Mir, District Culture officer Rajouri Alam Dar, Convener Northern Regional Board Sahitya Academy Dr. Aziz Hajini and Patron Himayalan Education Mission Farooq Muztar, intellectuals, writers, poets and literature lovers were also present on the occasion.
