DDC Kupwara reviews ADP under Agriculture Sector

KUPWARA, DECEMBER 11: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg, today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to discuss the use of advanced technology for increasing the income of farmers under Aspirational District Programme (ADP) here today.
Among others, the meeting was attended by JD Planning, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, representatives of Sheep and Fisheries Departments and other concerned.
The officers of the concerned departments put forth various plans and techniques for increasing the income of farmers under Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and other allied sectors.
Chief Agriculture Officer said that the department is keen to increase the produce by using innovate methods and techniques. He also said that the department will design and host an online portal for branding the farmers’ produce at national level. He informed that the department will work on the techniques for preservation of vegetables and fruits for their durability.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer said that the high-breed dosage at subsidized rate of Rs.60 per doze will be provided to farmers for their cows to improve milk production.
The meeting also discussed various other measures for increasing the farmers’ income.
On the occasion, the DDC directed the concerned officers to come up with proposals for implementation in this regard. He also asked for identifying sites for cultivating fodder for winter season and for establishment of three dumping sites for storage of fodder in the district.
