DDC Kulgam distributes motorized tricycles, Hearing aids among differently-abled persons

KULGAM, DECEMBER 10. District social welfare office Kulgam today organized a distribution camp for providing motorized tricycles and other prosthetic aids to differently-abled persons at a function organized here today.
The District Development Commissioner Kulgam Showkat Aijaz Bhat presided over the function.
Present on the occasion, were ADC Shabir Hussain Bhat, ACR Mir Imtiyaz, DSWO, Mohammad Shafait, TSWO, Feroz Ahmad and other officers of the department.
On the occasion the DDC held a detailed interaction with persons with disabilities and urged them not to let their disabilities overcome their determination to succeed in life.
The DDC said that efforts are afoot to provide opportunities and proper facilities to specially-abled persons and children to empower them so that they can realize their dreams and aspirations.
On the occasion DSWO informed that presently department is providing monthly pension of Rs. 1000 to 6334 Differently Abled Persons of the district. The department has also distributed 122 motorized tricycles, 32 hearing aids, wheel chairs and other prosthetic aids among identified beneficiaries during current fiscal, he added.
