ISM holds free diabetes screening camp at Bandipora

BANDIPORA, DECEMBER 10: Indian System of Medicines (ISM) held a free diabetes screening cum awareness camp at District Police Lines Bandipora in collaboration with the JK Police here today.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir who was chief guest, inaugurated the camp while Senior Superintendent of Police, Rahul Malik was the guest of honor on the occasion.
On the occasion a team of doctors screened over 200 Police personals while hundreds of diabetic patients attended the camp where specialist doctors offered free consultation, medical tests and medication for the visiting patients including policemen.
ADC Bandipora on the occasion said that the health department of the district understands the increased incidence of diabetes and aims to hold awareness camps across the district to sensitize people about the importance of lifestyle modifications to prevent or control diabetes.
Nodal Officer ISM Bandipora, Dr Iftikar said that there are growing cases of diabetes owing to the faulty food habits and sedentary life styles. He said the department is conducting more such camps in the district to aware people about the causes and prevention of disease.
