DC Rajouri conducts surprise inspection of Rajouri hospital

Doctor among three suspended


RAJOURI, DECEMBER 10: A team of District Administration under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Nazir Sheikh conducted surprise inspection at the hospital in the night hours in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday to take first hand appraisal of patient care in Rajouri GMC Associated Hospital.
The team was comprising of Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohammad Ashraf and Deputy Director Planning Bilal Mir.
All the officers were disguised as attendants of patients with no escort and supporting staff. The secret inspection lasted for three hours during which inspection team checked several sections including patients register, testing equipment, ECG room, dialysis unit, wards and washrooms. The officers also interacted with the patients to enquire about the facilities being provided to them.
During inspection, it was also ascertained that some officials were absent from duty and whereas some other officials were impersonating duties in place of those mentioned in roaster.
Taking a note of such callous attitude, DC ordered suspension of Dr. Raiz Ahmed posted in SNCU and two staff nurses namely Umaira Rashid and Balkees Khanum. Explanation have been served to Medical Superintendent for poor work culture of the hospital.
DC said that the health sector is a priority sector of government and Rajouri GMC Associated Hospital is a main health institution meant for proper health care which cater the patients from not only Rajouri district but also from Poonch and Reasi. He said that corrective measures will be taken to improve work culture in the hospital.
