Book Review: "Random Subterranean Mosaic: 2012-2018" by Sabarna Roy

There are some books which contain the author’s sagacious thoughts and deep contemplations. These books which may be fictional or non-fictional truly provide a window into the writer’s heart, soul and mind. The author Sabarna Roy comes up with such a book “Random Subterranean Mosaic: 2012-2018”, which involves his ruminations about various true events in his life, and also fictional stories.

The subtitle of the book “Time frozen in myriad thoughts” is very apt, for the writings of the author include a multitude of emotions, ideas and imaginations which he has captured in his writings during the time period of 2012-2018. Fiction, non-fiction, semi-autobiographical, and autobiographical pieces, all find a place in this book. It includes poems, short-shorts, opinions, observations, and conversations. These books have been very well-received and are mostly fictional, and include stories, plays and poems, which delight the readers in equal measure. However, in the prose of this book, he has detailed his personal observations and experiences. He has also written about his writing journey and the difficulties that he faced in his writing journey. The poesies in this book are also mellifluous, yet heartfelt. I hope I have achieved this in a large measure in this fifth book of mine!"

This is a book that has a myriad of writings- of which some are perspicacious, some authentic, some passionate, and some acerbic, and these will be liked by the readers, for they will love to read about the true stories written by the author, and also about his travels, and his life- which is sometimes mundane and sometimes exciting. This is an engrossing work, which is filled with beautiful expressions and elegant writing. Readers, pick up this book for an engrossing read.
