Book Review: "Maker of your Life" by Vipul Bhartiya

There are various self-help books and books on mastering one’s life which delve into the solutions for day to day problems and challenges, and help us evolve into a better person. The author Vipul Bhartiya, who is an International Peak Performance Coach and Branding expert comes up with one such book “Maker of your Life- A complete package to become your own master”, which forays into how one can identify and evolve one’s Buddha.

The book details how one can become a master of his own life by following pragmatic steps to achieve greater heights. It contains steps and strategies of identifying and evolving one’s Buddha to lead a happy and prosperous life. The author explains that your Buddha derived from your Buddhi ; and is a combination of your inner voice and gut feeling; wisdom and self-image; un-biased experience that is your failure and your achievement; your pureness, values and character; your self-realisation; and your visual-auditory-kinesthetic writing (VAK writing is your programming of what you saw, listened and felt since your childhood). Your Buddha is the destroyer of greed, ego and fear. In short, in identifying our Buddha, it means identifying the characteristics we possess, that determine our category. How one can evolve into the next category is explained in The Buddha Evolution process. The subtitle of the book “10 x Performance – 10 x Growth” and “Evolve your Buddha as a powerful brand” describes the essence of this book very aptly.

The book also delves into how one can achieve work-life balance, how to build a social media brand, how to achieve financial independence, and how to become an extraordinary performer. The author also describes that gratitude is the greatest force to become an outstanding performer.

The real-life experiences of many reputed personalities are detailed, along with experiences of the people who have attended the author’s workshops. These examples are very inspiriting. The book also contains a coterie of eclectic quotations which are immensely motivational. There are also many photographs, illustrations and flowcharts which make this book an easy read. There are also assignments at the end of each chapter for self-evaluation and the readers will also get more involved in the book due to these practice exercises. However, the content is repetitive at times and tight editing could’ve been done at places.

This is a book which the general readers will relish for it unfolds for them the pristine path of self-development and self-recognition. Many arcane concepts and techniques are explained in this book in a lucid manner. It is an excellent source for those in the quest of finding their own Buddha, and interspersed in its pages are enlightening thoughts and quotations which will help the readers in the journey of finding their own Buddha.
