DDC visits fruit Mandi Batengoo

ANANTNAG, NOVEMBER 11:District Development Commissioner Anantnag Khalid Jahangir today visited fruit Mandi Batengoo to take stock of the arrangements being made by the Horticulture Department for procurement of apple crop, grading, labelling and transport arrangements for the procured apple crop.
During the visit the fruit growers appraised the DDC regarding delay in grading and labelling of apple crop.
The DDC directed AMO to submit the daily based status report of grading, labelling and dispatching of loaded trucks. He also directed the concerned officers to speed up the process of grading and labelling to ensure proper implementation of Market Intervention Scheme.
Later, the DDC made extensive tour of Sub-division Bijbehara and visited damaged orchards in Madhama, Sirhama & Khiram. Various deputations met him on way and appraised him about the problems being faced by them with regard to power supply, drinking water. They also demanded constituting of survey teams for damage to their orchards due to recent snowfall.
The DDC assured them their grievances would be redressed. He directed the concerned joint teams of Revenue & Horticulture Departments to expeditiously work out the losses incurred to orchards due to recent untimely snowfall. He said the list of affected fruit growers should be factually framed up as per existing relief norms.
The DDC also released Rs.2.00 lacs to PDD Department for purchase of LT/HT conductor and polls. He directed R&B Department for expeditious completion of Murhama-Sirhama road.
The SDM Bijbehara, SE PDD, MO Anantnag, Xens of R&B, PHE & officers from Horticulture Department were accompanying him.
