NHAI to establish Kunjwani flyover, service lanes, expansion of rail under roads
JAMMU: The Government of Indian (GOI) has accorded sanctioned to Rs 380 crore for the development of 37 kilometer-long stretch from Vijaypur to Nagrota on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway involving several projects including establishment of Kunjwani flyover, Devika Bridge in Vijaypur, four lanning of rail-under-bridges at Nagrota and Greater Kailash in Jammu.
The project will be executed by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
“Yes, the project is approved and the authority will soon start construction works,” Hemraj, General Manager, NHAI told The News Now.
“The completion of project will smooth the flow of traffic on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway and decongest some busy chowks in district Jammu,” he added.
The Kunjwani flyover will be constructed from Choudhary Palace to Vishal Mega Mart, while the other flyover will be constructed at marble market Greater Kailiash.
“Four lanning of roads-under-bridge near Greater Kaliash, improvement of Narwal Chowk and improving other roads rail under bride near Nagrota is also on the cards,” he added.
Hemraj added that the NHAI is also mulling to expand National Highway from Vijaypur to Jammu Airport.
“The Detailed Project Report (DPR) is not prepared yet in this regard,” he added.
