Kathua DDC listens to people’s issues

KATHUA, NOVEMBER 8: As part of the public outreach programme, District Development Commissioner O P Bhagat today convened a public grievance redressal camp here at Mahanpur and Karanwara of Basohli Sub Division.
Various deputations from Block Mahanpur and adjoining areas apprised the DDC of their grievances and demands. The demands projected included up gradation of schools, adequate drinking water, power connectivity, low voltage, registration for Aadhar Card and updation, completion of Sulabh toilet complex besides other related concerns of the people.
The DDC assured the people that all their genuine issues would be redressed on priority basis. Many issues were resolved by the DDC by issuing on spot directions to concerned officers.
ADC Basohli, T R Thapa apprised the DDC of major issues of the area like insufficient number of teachers in educational institutes, lack of doctors and para-medics in hospital, immediate repair of Ambulances, land for PMAY houses to landless beside others.
Chairman, BDC Mahanpur, Raj Singh also spoke on the occasion and apprised the DDC about the people’s issues which needs government’s intervention.
Earlier, en route to Mahanpur the DDC also inspected Cage Culture unit of Fish Seed Farm Kathua at Satwain.
Later, at CFC Karanwara, the DDC interacted with 18 families affected by land slide. He assured them that suitable land shall be allotted to them for their rehabilitation. He also inspected the area affected due to land slide and directed the concerned Patwari to identify State land for the rehabilitation of the affected people. He advised all the villagers to undertake plantation drives especially Bamboo and other area specific plants to prevent soil erosion.
