Udhampur admin braces up for implementation of Project Jeevika

UDHAMPUR, NOVEMBER 08: For effective implementation of Jal Shakti Abhiyan in the district, Additional District Development Commissioner Udhampur Ashok Kumar today chaired meeting with officers of concerned departments to work out the modalities for implementation of project Jeevika.
Pertinent to mention here that Project Jeevika has been conceptualized by District Development Commissioner Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla in which water harvesting tanks will be constructed in all Panchays at of district Udhampur.
Agriculture Department has been designated as nodal department and 840 ponds will be constructed in convergence with MGNREGA in all panchayats of district. In this connection SMS Agriculture Vikas Padha gave a detail presentation to officers of RDD, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forest, Animal Husbandry, and Sheep Husbandry.
The Agriculture department apprised the meeting that work on the project has been started in Udhampur block. ADDC asked the officers to identify the locations having good feasibility and maximum outcome.
Among others present in the meeting were Assistant Commissioner Development, Mushtaq Chowdhary, CAO, CHO, DAO, DSHO, DFO SF, BDOs, AEOs and other officers/ officials of concerned department.
